Early life: Genelia studied at Apostolic Caramel High School in Bandra and later at St Andrews College (Bandra) to pursue a Bachelor of Management Studies. She was also state level athlete and National level player in Football.

Career: Geneliamade her debut in Bollywood in 2003. first Hindi film Tujhe Meri Kasam opposite Ritesh Deshmukh. She left bollywood for a moment to focus on South Indian films.She first hit the limelight with a Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan and did a fair and lovely Cricket World Cup 2003 ad with Krishnamachari Srikkanth.She was also a part of Mani Ratnam show, Netru, Indru, Naalai. Boys in 2003, which is a huge success. She debuted Telugu with Satyam and went to several movies that have their profile in South India to act. She appeared in several Telugu films like happy, Samba and Sye. She folowedup cast with Venkatesh in Subhash Chandra Bose, it was disappointed at the box office.
